I got this bike new from Amazon during Spring 2011. I ride around 5 miles a day on average, with occasional longer rides, typically commuting on lousy city streets. Some quick warnings:My bike came with 3-stop front shifters, despite only having 2 chainrings. These cannot be adjusted to properly work together. I suspect I have similar compatibility issues in the rear, as despite fixing the derailleur stops, I have never been able to get all of the rear cassette to work.Much of the bike is quite oddly standardized. This was/is my first road bike, and at first I was quite pleased. Then the problems started rolling in:* Tires are too thin to ride on the road. I had 5 flats in 2 weeks. The first 2 or 3 were with lousy tubes, the remainder were with nice ones. Replacing the tires is not cheap.* When I replaced the tires, I discovered that the rims are, in fact, smaller than 700C. THEY ARE NOT ISO 622. Trying to fully pressurize ISO 622 tires on the stock rims will result in poor bead seats and flats.* As a matter of personal preference, 36 spokes is too many. So, to replace the rims, I needed to replace the hubs.* This turned out not to be a big deal, because the freewheel failed after about 6 months.* After about 4 months the bottom bracket bearing started failing.* After about 5 months the crank spindle had bent. This also caused the inner chainring to hit the frame.tl;dr: If you buy this bike and actually use it, you'll put more money into repairing and replacing parts on it than…

Deluxe Hitch Mounted 5-Bike Carrier for 2-Inch hitch
If I could give this rack 4.5 stars I would! I have owned this rack for about a month. First off, it was easy to assemble and has a quality feel to it. Once attached to my hitch it is easy to load and unload. You load 1 bike from the backside of the rack and 4 from the front. I put 3 - 26" mountain bikes and 2 - 20" BMX style bikes on it with no problem. The tie downs are easy to use and the optional lower strap holds things in place nicely. I was skeptical that this rack would actually hold 5 bikes, but it does!My only complaint about this rack would be that the hole in the end of the rack that goes into your hitch receiver is only 1/2". So if you want to use your standard 5/8" receiver lock you are out of luck. The rack comes with a "no-wiggle" bolt that holds the rack to the hitch, BUT anyone could come along with a couple of wrenches and steal your rack. SO, I bought a 5/8" drill bit and made the holes bigger so I could use my standard hitch lock. Now I can easily take my rack on and off and not worry about the rack being stolen while out riding our bikes.

My son loves this bike! It was an entry level road bike to fill his desire to try out road racing seriously. Only critique I have is that the brake pads tend to rub the rims all the time. I have tried repeatedly to adjust without success. However, at this price, I can't complain too much.

Entry level strap rack featuring Thule's Stay-Put anti-sway cages and patented FitDial hub for precise fit and fold down arms
I purchased this product without knowing anyone who had owned a bike carrier and figured I'd go with a product that I had seen in many variations of carriers. Figured all these people can't be wrong, right? Upon receiving the rack I installed it and it was very easy to do. Afterward I gave the routine check and noticed that the arms felt loose to me since they use push in button for the swivel feature that allows for more compact storage. The looseness concerned me but again, I had no idea how the competition matched up either so I gave it a shot. I mount up my 2 mountain bikes and strapped them down and the looseness was gone, the bikes had locked the arms in place. Here it is about a dozen trips later and the bike carrier is still working like a champ, I'm completely confident that the bikes aren't going anywhere. I don't have any scrapes or scratches on my trunk from the straps either, much to my relief considering my car is only 6months old. The swivel feature that had concerned me is actually a very nice feature, when the bikes aren't on the rack I just take the carrier off, swivel the arms down and it stores nicely and compactly in the trunk. My only caveat is the rubber straps, I can see once they start to oxidize that they could dry, crack and break, but it's easy enough to just replace them since they are inexpensive.

I am very new to mountain biking, and only got into it because of this bicycle. I have never taken bikes off road until I got this GMC Topkick (In reality, this is made by Pacific Cycles - cheap department store level of quality, for the most part). For a novice like myself, initially the bike seemed fantastic. As I continue to progress into the sport, the shortcomings of this bike are becoming very apparent, however, it is only a ~$300 bike. So, to be concise and to the point, here is my take on it:PROs:- Decent enough construction quality- Perfect place for this bike is on city streets, negotiating potholes and other like hazards- Comfortable seat- Good looking bike- Disk breaks that work very well! - few offer disk breaks at this price point- Sharp and responsive rear derailleurCONs:- TERRIBLE front derailleur (no matter how many bike pros have tuned it, the chain rubs on the derailleur and the derailleur fails to shift downward often) NOT trail-worthy derailleur at all- Handle bar height cannot be adjusted - I had to purchase a stem extender, as the default posture for the bike is very uncomfortable.- The inter-tubes of the bike are what are called "Aero" design, meaning that they are a deep V. This is fine except that very few bike shops carry these, so carry a patch kit with you- This is a HEAVY bike and even on smooth pavement, you have to work hard to keep it moving (I see this as a PRO overall, as it is a good workout in my opinion)- CHEAP pedals that start…

I bought this bike for my 10 year old daughter. I bought this so that she could ride further and faster when going on family bike rides. With her Mountain bike (Giant MTX 225) she is always the first one tired. I looked into buying her slick tires for this bike, but the decent ones, with shipping would have cost $40-50 for the set. This bike at 3 times that price and everything included was a better deal.In short, the market for kids road bikes is highly limited. Everyone makes nice reasonably priced mountain bikes. Trek and Felt make road models that are quite pricey for a kid who is just getting started. I'd love to get her one of those, but I just can't justify the price. This bike was a good alternative. It uses mountain shifters/derailleurs to save money, but that is fine. She is already used to the twist shifters, and the gearing is fine for her. For the price you pay, it is a decent bike. We've been on a few 10-15 mile rides with it, and it has worked fine. (11/21/07 - She has since completed a 1/4 Century on this bike with over 1000 ft of climbing. She and the bike both performed flawlessly.)The bike, as shipped, just has the brakes and derailleurs slapped on. They had not been adjusted at all. I work on my own road bike, so this was not a problem for me, but others may want professional help. The front derailleur was actually bolted on too low and rotated, so that the chain rubbed in almost every gear combination. There is no inline adjustment for the front derailleur.…

versatile design to carry bikes in pick-ups, SUVs or vans
I have a m 06 Rav4 and the only option for a bike rack i had was installing a hitch. That is until I found this rack. It fits perfectly in the car, and is easy t instal. The bike is amazingly sturdy wen connected to the rack. Depeending on the bike size this will only fit one bike in my car, But it allows the bike to stand up leaving open more space for a bike laying down or packages. Now have to order the tire holder accessory.Directions are not the best.

Bike was easy to assemble with basic tools, minor adjustments to gears and breaks and I was riding it within two hours of shipment arrival. It is a bit heavy, but I live in south florida and there are no real "Mountains" to go mountain biking, so this is the perfect bike here. It is a very good looking bike, and after a month of riding it every other day I am completely satisfied with it.

This Victory Vision Road Bicycle has a light Alloy Men's Frame, Shimano 12-Speed Stem Shifters, complete Shimano Drivetrain, a Comfortable Road Racing Saddle, Alloy Hubs, Double Wall Alloy Rims, and Alloy Seat Post. This bike is meant for speed and strength!
I'll get the good out first. This is a great bike for the money; I looked all over in stores for a comparable bike and couldn't find one for under $250. Once assembled, the bike rides fine, the gears shift pretty smoothly and the brakes are decent. The seat leaves something to be desired (it's VERY narrow) but the handlebars are great (there's a good layer of comfort foam). The frame is sturdy and well-painted (any decals are covered with a layer of clear enamel) with the only stickers being of the generic variety, like the standard "warning: always wear a helmet" one. It took me a little while to adjust everything to where I wanted it, but once there everything was hunky-dory.The assembly, however, is a bear if you've never assembled a bike before (which I haven't). I consider myself decently handy, and if you give me a good set of directions I can usually figure things out no problem. The instruction manual in this case, however, isn't for this specific model of bike; it's a generic that reads like one of those choose-your-own-adventure books that were popular back in the day. My first clue was the warning that "pictures may not match your particular model." As I went on, I encountered a lot of "if your bike comes with this kind of...", which became very frustrating very quickly, especially when I got to the brakes - maybe it's just me, but none of those pictures look like what I was working on.Since there are no pictures of this bike model in…

I bought this bike about two months ago. I'm using it for going to work, school, and grocery shopping. I haven't had any problems with it. But if you are a TRUE MT Biker you might want to pass on this one. And if you want to use it for your daily life like me this is a great bike. And make sure you get it when it's on sale. Don't pay $250 for this.I think this bike deserves more than a star.
